A NEW BEGINNING
The gates of Imani Parents’ School are open once again, and the school is filled with the sound of children's laughter, excited conversations, and joyful greetings. The beginning of a new academic year is always a special moment, and the opening of the 2026/2027 academic year has brought renewed energy and excitement to our school community.
After a well-deserved break, our students have returned with smiles on their faces and excitement in their hearts. For some, it is the joy of seeing old friends again. For others, it is the excitement of meeting new classmates, entering a new class, or beginning a new chapter in their education.
Most importantly, it is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and serve.
A Joyful Return to School
Walking through the school on the opening days, one can immediately feel the happiness of our students. Friends are reunited, teachers are welcoming their learners, and classrooms are once again filled with the energy that makes Imani Parents’ School special.
The first day is more than simply returning to lessons. It is a reminder that every new academic year gives children another opportunity to discover their abilities, overcome challenges, make friendships, and develop the values that will guide them throughout life.
We are especially happy to welcome back our continuing students and to warmly receive those joining the Imani family for the first time.
To all our students: Welcome back! We missed you, and we are excited to see what you will accomplish this year.
A Year of Learning and Growth
As we begin 2026/2027, our expectations go beyond examination results and academic marks. We want every child to grow academically, socially, morally, and spiritually.
We expect our students to come to school ready to learn and ready to give their best effort each day.
This year, we encourage every learner to:
- Take their studies seriously.
- Read more and develop a love for learning.
- Respect teachers, parents, staff, and fellow students.
- Be responsible for their schoolwork and personal belongings.
- Develop good discipline and positive habits.
- Ask questions when they do not understand.
- Help and encourage their classmates.
- Participate actively in school activities.
- Discover and develop their talents.
- Learn from mistakes rather than being discouraged by them.
We believe that education is not only about preparing a child to pass an examination. It is about preparing a child for life.
Our Expectations from Our Teachers
A successful academic year also depends on the commitment of our teachers and staff.
We expect our teachers to approach this year with renewed dedication, patience, professionalism, and love for the children entrusted to their care.
Every lesson is an opportunity to make a difference in a child's life. Every word of encouragement can build confidence, and every act of patience can help a child overcome a difficulty.
We therefore look forward to a year in which our teachers continue to provide quality education while modelling the values of discipline, integrity, kindness, responsibility, and service.
The Important Role of Parents
At Imani Parents’ School, we believe that education is a partnership between the school and the home.
Parents are an essential part of a child's success. We encourage all parents to remain closely involved in their children's education throughout the year.
This means helping children develop good study habits, ensuring that they come to school prepared, following up on their schoolwork, communicating with teachers, and encouraging them when they face challenges.
Children achieve more when they know that the important adults in their lives are working together for their future.
Our message to parents this year is simple:
Let us work together. Let us communicate. Let us encourage our children. And let us help them become the best version of themselves.
A Year of Challenges and Opportunities
Every academic year comes with its own challenges. There may be difficult subjects, disappointing marks, moments of conflict, or days when a child feels discouraged.
But challenges are also opportunities for growth.
We want our students to learn that success does not come from never making mistakes. It comes from learning from mistakes, working hard, asking for help, and refusing to give up.
As the saying goes:
“Hard work today makes life easier tomorrow.”
Let us therefore encourage our children to develop good habits today that will serve them well in the future.
Building on the Imani Family
Imani Parents’ School began with a vision to serve children and families in our community. Over the years, that vision has continued to grow through the dedication of our students, parents, teachers, staff, and supporters.
As we enter another academic year, we are reminded that our school is more than buildings and classrooms. Imani is a family and a community.
Our goal is to create an environment where children feel safe, valued, encouraged, and challenged to grow.
We continue to build on the values that have guided our school: faith, education, discipline, service, and love for our community.
Looking Forward to 2026/2027
There is much to look forward to in the new academic year.
We look forward to seeing our students improve in their studies. We look forward to discovering new talents. We look forward to celebrating achievements, overcoming challenges, strengthening friendships, and watching our children mature throughout the year.
Most importantly, we look forward to seeing our learners grow into responsible young people who can make a positive contribution to their families, their communities, and Rwanda.
As we begin this journey together, we place the new academic year in God's hands and ask for wisdom, strength, protection, and guidance for our entire school community.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
